Non sono mai stato un vero “fotografo”. Le prime foto? Era il 1976, ho iniziato a scattare con una reflex russa, una Zenit-B, senza esposimetro, equipaggiata di un con un obiettivo Helios-44-2. Qualche rullino di pellicola rigorosamente in bianco e nero preferibilmente Ilford. Una manciata di scatti e ore a sviluppare e stampare in camera oscura. Poi tutto il resto, macchine più moderne, ma tutto molto semplice, senza flash e obittivi speciali, per piccoli passi sino al digitale. Ancora adesso, dopo migliaia di foto, non sono un fotografo. Creo ricordi per ricordare: stampe a contatto, pezzi unici su carta Montval o Arches Platine, realizzate con la tecnica della cianotipia, giochi di grafica al computer, segnalibri curiosi, strani décrottoir, tecniche di conversione in scala di grigi, foto con luce polarizzata e un breve decalogo (meta-dialogo) sul famoso dummy text: ‘Lorem Ipsum’.

I’ve never really been a photographer. What about my first photos? Back in 1976, I started taking photos with a Russian Zenit-B SLR camera that didn’t have a light meter. It was equipped with a Helios-44-2 lens. I used a few rolls of black-and-white film, preferably Ilford. I took a few shots and spent hours developing and printing them in the darkroom. Then came more modern cameras, still very simple without flashes or special lenses. And so it went up to digital cameras. Even now, despite having taken thousands of photos, I still don’t consider myself a photographer. I create mementos: contact prints; unique pieces on Montval or Arches Platine paper, made using the cyanotype technique; computer graphics; games; curious bookmarks; strange décrottoirs; grey-scale conversion techniques; photos taken with polarised light; and a short decalogue (a meta-dialogue) on the famous text of the printing and typesetting industry: ‘Lorem Ipsum’.
